Intermountain Youth Councils focused on removing the masks we wear to become “UnMasked” before God, self and others with 200 delegates at High Peak Camp in Estes Park, Colo., this spring.
Territorial Youth Secretary Captain Roy Wild started the weekend by inspiring the young people to take off the masks they came with and leave them at the foot of the cross. He challenged them with the story of Adam and Eve: “You may be able to fool your friends, your family, even me, but you cannot fool God!”
A guest worship band from Lebanon, Tenn., and Christian comedian Dustin Nickerson provided worship and testimony. Small group Bible studies challenged attendees on a more individual level.
Saturday night the young people enjoyed a masquerade ball with DJ Rico Colombo and family from Colorado Sight and Sound and dance instructor Heather Bayne from Nazerene Bible College. Divisional Leaders Lt. Colonels Dan and Helen Starrett even took to the dance floor.
Territorial Chief Secretary Colonel Dave Hudson spoke on Sunday morning, sharing that Jesus came to unmask God to us, to make him real for us so we can trust God with who we are.
Prospective Candidate Felicia Bustillos and Cadet Sam Snyder shared testimonies, and Blake Wilson from Salt Lake City was presented with his accepted candidate pin.
A young delegate from Fountain Valley, Colo., said, “I have gone to church my whole life, but God felt real to me this weekend.”
