World Bell Ringing Contest

LawlerAtKettle01Braving temperatures approaching 0 degrees, Lt. Rob Lawler, Helena (Mont.) corps officer, competes in The Salvation Army’s third annual World Bell Ringing Contest, which began at 9 a.m. Dec. 3.

Of the six contestants, four are from the Western Territory: Lawler, Quinton Green (Hanford, Calif.), Captain Emily Jones (Compton, Calif.) and Major Butch Soriano (San Diego).

The goal of the contest is to raise awareness of the Army’s 123rd annual Red Kettle Campaign. The current record is 80 hours of bell ringing.
