SAN BERNARDINO–Reaches out to homeless moms and children at VBS.

By Major Jacque Fritz –

A unique vacation Bible school recently conducted by members of the divisional Service Corps team at the San Bernardino Corps was well attended by women and children who are homeless. There was a morning session with an average daytime attendance of 34. Besides the fact that it was a welcome respite from the 104 degree heat in the park, their appreciation and willingness to learn were a real inspiration to the staff.

The evening program followed the usual VBS style, with the theme, “A Safari to the Kingdom of the Son.” Enthusiastic children brought their friends to join in, making a total daily average attendance of 103. The majority were first time decisions as 64 came forward for the Lord.
