More than 30 counties in Florida are suffering from extreme drought.

Salvation Army volunteers and staff responded to a call at Dan Callaghan Enterprises, a tire factory in east Bradenton, Florida, to provide hydration services at the five-alarm fire. Winds caused the fire to spread throughout the factory quickly.
The fire started around noon on Thursday, May 18. Multiple fire stations were called to the scene and students at nearby Rowlett Academy were evacuated due to smoke hazard. Salvation Army volunteers and staff stayed for several hours and and served food and water to 125 first responders, who have been battling the blaze since the early afternoon yesterday.
More than 30 Florida counties are under a burn ban as an extreme drought has plagued the state for months. The Salvation Army is working with Florida emergency personnel throughout the state to keep first responders hydrated and fed.
