The Salvation Army Western Territory was recently presented with the Microsoft Business Solutions Pinnacle Award for Overall Excellence.

The West is the largest user of Microsoft’s Great Plains software, which is used to keep track of financial data at THQ, DHQs, corps and ARCs. Over 400 companies/units, installed on 12 servers, are running this system.

Each year, Microsoft presents the Pinnacle Awards in recognition of the outstanding achievements of their customers—with the goal of recognizing and acknowledging customers who achieve outstanding levels of success with, and because of, their business solution.

The West’s award for Overall Excellence is the highest attainable and encompasses seven other award categories: Excellence in Education, in Teamwork, in Evangelism, in Customer Service, in Innovation, in Business Analytics, and Fast Track.

Particularly noteworthy was our Excellence in Evangelism, thanks to John Waterton, director of accounting systems. John has been a customer reference for the past several years for Microsoft and has assisted the Southern and Central Territories, IHQ, and New Zealand with Great Plains installation.
