International Spiritual Life Commission Appointed

General Paul A. Rader has announced the formation of an International Spiritual Life Commission following the recommendation of the International Conference of Leaders’ meeting in Hong Kong.

The purpose of the Commission is to review the means by which the people of God called “Salvationists” both individually and together cultivate and sustain their spiritual and inner life.

Included in the issues to come under discussion will be: the Study of the Word of God, the Prayer Life of the Army, Worship in the Army, the Sacraments and the Sacramental Life, Salvation Army Ceremonies, the Place of the Mercy Seat, and the Place of Traditional Spiritual Disciplines.

Commissioner Ian D. Cutmore, Principal of the International College for Officers, will serve as chair; Tustin Ranch, Calif., CSM Warren Johnson has been named an attending member. The following members will participate through attendance and/or correspondence. The Commission will hold its initial meeting during the first week of July 1996.
