The Salvation Army’s global leadership team will meet in Singapore July 19-26 for the International Conference of Leaders (ICL) under the direction of General André Cox and Commissioner Silvia Cox, world president of women’s ministries.

Attendees include leaders of The Salvation Army’s 59 territories, commands and regions from around the world, together with commissioners serving at International Headquarters (IHQ) and the USA national leaders.

“These are important days during which our discussions will focus on key themes, some having been raised at last year’s pre-High Council conference,” said André Cox. “We should not simply sit and listen to the delivery of various presentations, but must grapple with some of the urgent issues facing our Army today.”

The General also invited six leaders who will take up new territorial or command appointments following the ICL to attend.

The ICL will consider: Adherent Membership, Leadership Development, Lifestyle Issues, Impact Measurement and Accountability.

“Our conference will represent an important milestone within an ongoing journey that shall continue into the weeks and months ahead,” Cox said.

Singapore Central Corps will host the welcome meeting July 20, which will be live-streamed. Cox invited Salvationists and friends around the world to join in the welcome celebrations and asked that they pray for the leaders as they meet.

The Salvation Army’s Singapore, Malaysia and Myanmar Territory is part of the South Pacific and East Asia Zone; the Army’s work in Singapore was established in 1935.
