Honors Awarded at Commencement

More than 2,000 Salvationists, families and friends celebrated the commissioning and appointments of the Western Territories’ newest officers during a full weekend of music, Bible study and inspiration.

During the commencement services, held under the leadership of Training Principal Major Terry Griffin, Lt. Colonel Alfred Van Cleef, Southern California divisional commander, challenged the West’s 42 Messengers of the Truth to be agents of change both in the church and in society,

are thrilled to learn they are appointed to Russia.

Commissioner Peter H. Chang presented the Principal’s award to Cadets John Bennett and Beverley Lloyd, and the Commissioner’s award to Cadet Darren Norton. Associate of Arts in Ministries degrees were conferred by Chang on 37 of the graduates.

Other weekend highlights included Saturday’s “An Evening of Joy,” with Major Joy Webb (R), “Reason to Grow,” with Dr. Roger Green, and Sunday’s ordination and appointment services.
