This month’s tour of the Northwest by the Pasadena Tabernacle Band will mark Bill Gordon’s final trip as bandmaster of the 40-member group.

After a total of 14 years of wielding a baton, and another 25 as an instrumentalist, Gordon steps down as leader June 30. Joined by his wife, Lenore, and their five children, the Gordons will relocate to three acres at the foot of Mt. Baker in Lynden, Wash.–30 minutes across the border from the Pasadena band’s tour stop in Cariboo Hill, British Columbia.

“The move will let me fuel my passion for composing full time,” said Gordon, whose pieces are published and performed throughout the world. “I figured I’d better do it while I still had some passion left,” he said laughing.

Lenore and the children plan to move this summer. Bill, who is a 20-year veteran of the Western THQ property department, will join them in January.
