For Spring Campaigns, the KOA Brigade from the College for Officer Training at Crestmont traveled to New Mexico, where it ministered in three corps. During the week, the cadets let a worship night at the Albuquerque Adult Rehabilitation Program (ARP). Cadet Joshua Dulay stayed overnight at the ARP, where his own past experiences enriched his encounters with the men.
“I was blessed with the opportunity to stay in the ARP and feel that my own experience in the ARC [adult rehabilitation center] program and the Holy Spirit helped me connect and minister to the men in the program,” Dulay said.
For Cadet Cassandra Amezquita, seeing her brigade mate leading the men at the ARP in a time of worship was particularly memorable. She noted that in his past, Dulay’s situation had been similar to that of these men.
“Cadet Dulay was a once broken man, now healed by Christ, helping others see the light. Many times people [who are hurting] hurt other people, but this was a heavenly glimpse of a healed man, healing other people,” Amezquita said. I was overcome by emotion at the vulnerable men, who were days into recovery, lifting their hands to praise the God of opportunities. I was also so excited to see a glimpse of the many incredible ways that Cadet Dulay will be using his restoration story to touch the lives around him.”
The KOA Brigade also includes Cadets Angel Amezquita, Christopher and Gina Noble, Roselia Perez, Catherine Dooley, Sara Ray and Roxana Espinoza. Major Lourdes Griffith is the Brigade Officer.
