‘Gospel Mobile’ Takes Sunday School to the Streets

Southern California Hispanic Ministries has transformed a used canteen into a mobile Sunday school, taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the neighborhoods of Los Angeles.

Brother Jorge Masariegos of the Hollywood Corps helped get the canteen ready for service by decorating the side with a bright city scene.

Currently the unit takes to the streets in Hollywood in Belvedere Gardens on Wednesday, Eastmont Hispanic Ministries on Friday, and Los Angeles Central on Saturdays. Shortly, it will be used in opening home groups in different neighborhoods. The purpose of the mobile ministry is to increase personal contact with the children, youth and adults, and to get soldiers and officers involved in providing Biblical teaching and mobilizing Sunday school teachers. A puppet ministry is a favorite with the children.

Eastmont Hispanic Ministries has about 65 people attending after eight continuous weeks of work. Lieutenants Oscar and Brendy Juracan in Belvedere Gardens have more than 65 children coming for tutoring after 4:00 p.m.

Los Angeles Central Corps has evangelistic outreach in three different places on Saturdays, with total participation of local officers.

Thank God for an innovative, missions-oriented ministry demonstrating that People Really Count!
